Dov Ebaum was born to an ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem family and immersed in the life of the ultra-Orthodox and the cloistered yeshiva studies of that community. During his army service he left that lifestyle and ever since has engaged passionately in language and literature, art and philosophy, engaging core questions of Jewish thought and Israeli life as a journalist, television host, novelist and lecturer.
He is a senior educator at BINA (the Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture) and the Secular Yeshiva which aims to restore the living connection between Israeli culture today and the world of traditions and sources from our culture's past; it is reviving Jewish values for secular Israelis in a modern, more relevant way. |
