Join us as we Pursue Justice!
the ptbe community has endorsed CLIMATE CHANGE, bodily autonomy, and the protection of our democracy as our priority social justice ISSUES.
We are excited to engage PTBE members of all ages in these social justice campaigns. This is not just a committee--this is a PTBE-wide movement!
Come be a part of it!
What is Rodfei Tzedek?
We draw inspiration from one of the most famous justice-related verses in Torah:
“צֶ֥דֶק צֶ֖דֶק תִּרְדֹּ֑ף, / tzedek tzedek tirdof” — “Justice, justice shall you pursue!”
The PTBE Rodfei Tzedek (Pursuers of Justice) team believes that together we can become an increasingly powerful force to implement the values of Tikkun Olam and social justice in our congregation, our local community and in our country.
WHY SOCIAL JUSTICE?
We, as Jewish people, are called to social justice work. The Talmud states, "Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”
